Henry's feeling better and other things

Henry was ill this week, not feeling well with a stomach bug.  Thomas stayed home during the week  with him for two days.  Rick and I will be traveling down to them tomorrow, Saturday, to watch Reed ride mutton.  Cannot wait to see those two delightful grandsons.  This picture of Henry is when he is obviously feeling better, he's playing with the trucks and boats and the bear that I made for his Momma, Breanna.

Finished binding the fishing quilt for Everett and made him a pirate pillow case trimmed in Green, his favorite color.   In case we found them at the Mexican Restaurant tonight we took it all with us, but they were not there.  It will get to him soon.

Next week is Grady's birthday party time.  The boys are beginning new stages.  It is glorious to see and yet sad to see too.  I love their energy, their innocense, and their joy.

Sent this quilt off to be quilted - it chosen recipient is Thomas.  Hope he enjoy the flannel.

Monday morning notes September 26, 2016

It seems time is quickly passing.  Cooler weather is being predicted and that's a great thing to have coming.
Allergies are rampantly aggressive and effecting both Rick and myself.  Grrr, cannot abide ragweed.
After mowing the yard Saturday morning, I gleefully spent the afternoon with Chelsey, Everett, and Cheyenne shopping at Terrell's Outlet Mall.  We stopped at McDonald's on the way home and received a viewing of an airshow that was very exciting for Everett.
Completed Conley's quilt, it's washed and dried and ready to be delivered.  Started the charity quilt for homeless people's here in Dallas.  The precut items were not cut accurately.  Gave the piecing to God and continued forward.  Some are attached by a scant thread.  She better quilt the dickens out of it to keep the piecing from fraying.

Reed is 5 and other happenings

Reed  - our first grandson became a whooping five year old September 6th.

In celebration, the family got together down at Breanna's and Thomas'.  All six of the grand's had a great time.  Humidity was awful, lucky for them they got to cool off in the pool.

Rick and Colt wanted to include setting up the deer feeders, filling them and checking cameras.

Sunday, Jennifer took Colt to the eye doctor.  Somehow he scratched his eye and was in a lot of pain.  I got to keep Grady and Cheyenne while they were away.  After the dr. appt. she took Colt home and came and stayed for a few hours with us.

Love my family

Taken from trail cam of what we are referring to as the ghost cat chasing deer.  Looks like they were moving very fast.

Catching up with day to day

Breanna and the boys came up and visited last weekend.  Rick had Reed stay with him to 'fix fences' and 'feed cows' and on and on.  They both enjoyed their day.  I met up with Breanna along with Chelsey and Cheyenne at Canton First Monday Trades Day.  The March weekend was warm and very crowded.  We got in just under 10K steps.

Last weekend for February 2016

It's the final deer hunting weekend for the 2015/2016 season, well, it is the final season for my husbands deer lease.  We will be heading down in Southeast Texas and will get to spend more days with Reed and Henry.  Packing up and heading down tonight.

Last night while watching Midsomer Murder's on Acorn TV I worked on The Needle Niche BOM project, which I will be ending up with two versions of.  Happily, I am continuing to make a first block from Reproduction fabrics and for some reason that block looks better than the block using 30's fabric.  I had previously completed my Repro block and cut the 30's fabric for the BOM version. I run into more issues with the second block than the first block but I'm too afraid to make the 30's block first as it is supposed to be from a limited supply of provided fabric - but then again, ;)  it is a controlled scrappy 30's finished quilt blocks so who is going to know that my fabrics used in the block do not match other participants blocks.  Another reason for the success of the reproduction fabric blocks could be due to the chosen fabric coming from my own stash, but more than likely it's success is from my own OCD mentality not screaming YOU'RE GOING TO MESS IT UP!

Nearing the ending Midsomer Murder, I continued matching squares of neutral to yellow for the 2015 Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt.   I've decided to take the slower road on piecing this mystery.

Going to be a great drive with the Redbud trees blooming!

Lovely weekend

Rick and I headed south Sunday to visit with Breanna, Thomas and the delicious grandboys.  I really enjoyed time with these boys.  Their adventurous spirit with bouts of loud giggles make each visit very heartfelt.
Thomas was getting home when we pulled in around noon, the boys were outside playing and did not know that their Granny and PawPaw were headed down to visit them at their home.  Henry peeled around the corner of the house and ran into my arms squealing 'Granny'.  I joyfully/ gleefully received a big hug, which of course, has made my entire week very happy.  Reed peeled around the corner a few seconds later and went excitedly straight into PawPaw's arms.
The weather was fantastic, it was a warm humid day. The boys and I played in the dirt with shovels and tractors and backhoes and each other.
Rick took both boys with him riding on the ATV to add a battery to the game camera and Breanna and I were lucky to have some quiet time together; we do not seem to get that very often these days.  Time spent together is usually a minute here or there.
To view where Thomas and Breanna will be building their home we all walked down to the recently created building pad.  Reed was riding in the new electronic Jeep and Henry was swinging between PawPaw and Granny, saying 1, 2, 3333 then lifting his feet to be swung.  I avidly hope it all works out for them and that they do receive the family land as promised, which will enable their future family dreams to come to fruition.
Here's pictures of the boys taken this beautiful weekend with their adorable gritty faces that I am completely head over heels in love with.

February - 1st weekend

This weekend was very enjoyable.  Friday night we went to the Mexican Restaurant again and of course I had the Mexican Tacos that I love and as we were finishing up into the restaurant came our daughter and her family.  Everett is such a wonderful boy and Cheyenne is adorable.  She's just beginning to view the world!  Joyous.  Saturday I spent the day with Cheyenne and Chelsey, opened a Sam's Club membership.  We had lunch at Schlotsky's, great day.  Sunday we spent the day together, after getting breakfast at Athens CafĂ©, Breanna and the boys facetimed conversation.  Reed has a wonderful new haircut and curly boy, Henry, supposedly lost 2" of length too! Henry said his haircut was 'pretty'.  Colt and his family showed up just as we came back home after 4PM.  Grady is a fun kid and Conley is a mess ~  she's delightfully fun too.
With all that family love, it was a terrific weekend.

Great Weekend

Monday morning and I feel refreshed and ready for the workweek.  Went to The Needle Niche and picked up January BOM, got the test block and the official BOM completed, felt great.  Continued on with Bonnie Hunter's 2015 Quilt Mystery, Alletaire.  Very productive.  Love watching Acorn TV in the quilt room.  Re-watching Midsomer Murders, love that show.
From the remaining grey fabric I believe the mystery is almost to a close, perhaps a few more parts are needed.
Breanna went to Tiffany's baby, Tori Grace Abrams, shower yesterday in Brenham.  We did not go due to the event being on a Sunday.  Bre sent a picture of she and Tiffany together, lovely.

Life is so much sweeter having one of these machines.  Simply make a single cup and go.  Love it.  Best gift received in years.  Thanks Chelsey and Jennifer.

January break

This weekend I got to enjoy a break away from work for three whole days.  Saturday we enjoyed a family day celebrating the 4th Grandboys second birthday.  Henry is beginning to be a laughter filled enjoyment.  He use to be very contemplative, now he is smiling and laughing continually.  We are receiving a lot of photo's with huge grins.  Blessing abound.
Yesterday, Monday, MLK day - holiday from Working - I'll take it free day - while his Momma took Cheyenne to get pictures I got to visit Everett for a few hours.  We danced - Cheeto's dance and the crazy monkey dance and we danced together in the kitchen too.  Weather was enjoyable and outside we went, visited crabs and octupus' and wolves in the travel trailer.  Watched some cartoons and sewed together too.  Momma came home with some gorgeous pictures.
Over the weekend, I continued working on the Bonnie Hunter 2015 Mystery Quilt and I slept a lot!  Now it's back to reality and work work work.

January 2016

January 10 was Henry Alan's second birthday.  I so adore his personality, filled with individuality and he's pretty decisive.  This coming weekend will be his party date.  Cannot wait to get hugs and see the boys running around.

Rick and I got all families trampoline's for Christmas gifts.  Breanna and Thomas, Chelsey and Kenneth have theirs up.

Started a new QOM from The Needle Niche.  Unsure of myself so I will be making two of the same quilt blocks, one from the fabric they provide and another from Reproduction fabric that I already have.  I'll do the reproduction fabric first to ensure that the blocks are learned before making the 1930's addition.  I am thinking I'll be able to use these 12 blocks with the other 1930's blocks I have to make an even bigger quilt.  Of course that will make mine not the QOM layout but, it is my quilt so I should be able to use it however I want to without feeling guilty, right - Yes, I should.

Colt and Jennifer have moved into their new home.  It appears that Colt is living the dream.
