Last weekend for February 2016

It's the final deer hunting weekend for the 2015/2016 season, well, it is the final season for my husbands deer lease.  We will be heading down in Southeast Texas and will get to spend more days with Reed and Henry.  Packing up and heading down tonight.

Last night while watching Midsomer Murder's on Acorn TV I worked on The Needle Niche BOM project, which I will be ending up with two versions of.  Happily, I am continuing to make a first block from Reproduction fabrics and for some reason that block looks better than the block using 30's fabric.  I had previously completed my Repro block and cut the 30's fabric for the BOM version. I run into more issues with the second block than the first block but I'm too afraid to make the 30's block first as it is supposed to be from a limited supply of provided fabric - but then again, ;)  it is a controlled scrappy 30's finished quilt blocks so who is going to know that my fabrics used in the block do not match other participants blocks.  Another reason for the success of the reproduction fabric blocks could be due to the chosen fabric coming from my own stash, but more than likely it's success is from my own OCD mentality not screaming YOU'RE GOING TO MESS IT UP!

Nearing the ending Midsomer Murder, I continued matching squares of neutral to yellow for the 2015 Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt.   I've decided to take the slower road on piecing this mystery.

Going to be a great drive with the Redbud trees blooming!

Lovely weekend

Rick and I headed south Sunday to visit with Breanna, Thomas and the delicious grandboys.  I really enjoyed time with these boys.  Their adventurous spirit with bouts of loud giggles make each visit very heartfelt.
Thomas was getting home when we pulled in around noon, the boys were outside playing and did not know that their Granny and PawPaw were headed down to visit them at their home.  Henry peeled around the corner of the house and ran into my arms squealing 'Granny'.  I joyfully/ gleefully received a big hug, which of course, has made my entire week very happy.  Reed peeled around the corner a few seconds later and went excitedly straight into PawPaw's arms.
The weather was fantastic, it was a warm humid day. The boys and I played in the dirt with shovels and tractors and backhoes and each other.
Rick took both boys with him riding on the ATV to add a battery to the game camera and Breanna and I were lucky to have some quiet time together; we do not seem to get that very often these days.  Time spent together is usually a minute here or there.
To view where Thomas and Breanna will be building their home we all walked down to the recently created building pad.  Reed was riding in the new electronic Jeep and Henry was swinging between PawPaw and Granny, saying 1, 2, 3333 then lifting his feet to be swung.  I avidly hope it all works out for them and that they do receive the family land as promised, which will enable their future family dreams to come to fruition.
Here's pictures of the boys taken this beautiful weekend with their adorable gritty faces that I am completely head over heels in love with.

February - 1st weekend

This weekend was very enjoyable.  Friday night we went to the Mexican Restaurant again and of course I had the Mexican Tacos that I love and as we were finishing up into the restaurant came our daughter and her family.  Everett is such a wonderful boy and Cheyenne is adorable.  She's just beginning to view the world!  Joyous.  Saturday I spent the day with Cheyenne and Chelsey, opened a Sam's Club membership.  We had lunch at Schlotsky's, great day.  Sunday we spent the day together, after getting breakfast at Athens CafĂ©, Breanna and the boys facetimed conversation.  Reed has a wonderful new haircut and curly boy, Henry, supposedly lost 2" of length too! Henry said his haircut was 'pretty'.  Colt and his family showed up just as we came back home after 4PM.  Grady is a fun kid and Conley is a mess ~  she's delightfully fun too.
With all that family love, it was a terrific weekend.
